The recoil is a few years old. But he has always had this issue of the recoil not feeding back in all the way! Have to tug back and for it to seat all the way back in. When its warm ,the worse it is. We re round sprig last year same issue still. All help would be appreciated. thanks

Easy fix but you need to remove the recoil (Remove muffler and exhaust first) and take maybe 2 more turns on the rope pulley to tighten the spring so it fully recoils. Do not remove the starter handle.
1. Once the recoil is off take get a few inches of rope out of the pulley, hold the rope against the edge of the recoil pulley and put a couple of turns tighter turning the pulley with rope held in position on the pulley (some pulleys have a notch to do this if not you can still turn the pulley with the rope between the pulley and recoil housing), holding rope on the pulley as you go then attach the recoil.
2. Reassemble and check recoil with handle before you reassemble exhaust. Done
Good luck dac37
