This sled came to me with no spark. I have checked through everything ignition related and the only thing I have found out of spec is the ignition timing sensor. The spec sheet I have says it should read 190 ohm +or- 20%. This one reads 99 ohms. Would this cause the problem. I spoke to RM stator because there replacement reads 120 ohms, in which case the one I have would be close. He also said I should see 4 volts out of that coil when cranking it over which I am not seeing. Does anyone have any ideas before I start buying/changing parts? The only other thing I can't check is the ECU, but in the many sleds I have worked on over the years I think I have replaced one, but I have also not worked on very many Arctic Cats. Any and all suggestions would be much appreciated.

that would be a good assessment, the part is not hard to swap out. There should be a noticeable voltage from that pick up, if none then I would suspect it. I could be a short somewhere(wire rubbed through) but normally that renders a O ohm resistance(direct to ground)

There is a company called stator corp. that can rewind and repair your stator with a heavier wire for a fraction of the price of a new one. 508-478-5712 or 508-478-5700. The also test them first with a load on them to make sure it is bad. Cat stators were know to go bad in the late 90s and early 2000.

I think the stator is OK. As of now, I am going to put that back in and put in a new pick up coil and see if that works. The pick up is only 20-30bucks and is the one thing that didn't read in spec. I'm still interested in finding out the correct resistance of the pick up coil as I have been finding different values with replacements.
