Ok guys...This is all second hand from a buddy of a buddy but this how the story goes:

He bought a 2002 Yamaha VMAX

Seller said it had some carb work done on it.

Friend rode it 60 miles seems all was OK.

Now he says it idles OK but when give gas it bogs down. Then as RPM gets higher all seems good.

Where should he start here? Give him some idea's of where to start please.

PS...My poo is run'n Great !.... :)

How many miles? I had mine act somewhat like that with a broken primary clutch spring.

Might also want to check Totallyamaha.com, best bunch of Yamy guys around and with lots of tips and experience.

Check for wear on the primary clutch rollers and arms. Had some wear out that I didn't notice and it caused all kinds of problems. Also no harder than it is I'd pull the carbs back off and check the mains and pilots.

and if they road in deep snow, check spark plug caps for water in them
