spun ring? thats what happened to a friend right hand side from seat position?

Where did it burn " exhaust port area ?

Generally if it burnt up at the exh port, it was due to a lean condition. ( Most of the time )
Check your power valve cables too.
I had a power valve cable break and the power valve went in and the piston caught it. Tore up piston and wall. YES I Know they aren't supposed to go in that far. It did...
While things were apart I ground the tips off the power valve perhaps 0.025" so they can't hit again.
Let us know what you find when you tear it apart.
