Had one back when they were first out in 2003. They came with a conical lug track which was worthless for everything except top end. They also had the old pro action rear suspension which broke for me after only 750 miles. Other than that I have seen reports of minor things like seat seams pulling out and other trivial things. For the most part they have held up well. I would almost guess that most of these have had their tracks replaced by now. As far as your weight and height no problem. If you can ride it first. You can see for yourself how it fits.

I am still a proud owner of one of these and I still love ripping it down the trails. No real big issues and far less than most other 2003 sleds still on the trail. Just like all sleds it needs general maintenance; clean carbs, clean clutches, bushings/bearings, and exhaust donuts about do it. It likely will need some suspension tuning for you, big boy spring in the rear, 13mm front stabilizer bar and depending on the mileage a shock rebuild and revalve. The powerband will put a smile on your face. I am thinking that you will need a bar riser for your large knee caps...

A lot of people, myself included, have put an Apex seat on the RX-1. At your height, do not do it. The seat will be too short for you.

Also, the exhaust donuts can be a real hassle if you strip out the allen head bolts on the exhaust pipes. Instead of the stock donuts, try to find the copper ones which should last a lifetime.

And with the weight of that sled, you really want reverse.
