Check engine light is driving me crazy. Started out blinking three times pause and three more times. This would happen on occasssion, know its on a constant flash when going 40mph or faster.Does not blink under forty mph,and does not seen to hurt the performance. If anyone can offer some insight on this,it would be greatly appreciated.

Check the sticker under your hood. The carb sticker is from a 2004 and the EFI is from a 2006

Confussed

What does this have to do with the blinking light? How could a EFI from a 2006 be in a 2004 sled?

Thanks mike

You count how many times the light blinks and look at the sticker. 6 flashes is servo, steady flash is temperature, 3 flashes is air temperature sensor.....

The pictures I posted were from 2 different sleds. The one that says "Carb diagnostic codes/Check engine light" in from a carburetor 2004 Firecat. The second sticker that says EFI diagnostic codes/Check engine light" is from a EFI 2006 Firecat.

So lift your hood and look at your sticker would be my suggestion.

Just learning about snowmobile.Din't realize one was for carb and other fuel injection.Looks like im overheating.hasen't went to a solid red only blinking all the time. They say go to loose snow for fix, theres got to be something better than that for the fix. This will start blinking before the sled gets warm. Thanks for your help.

you are welcome. I would check the sensor and also your coolant level. The 3 blinks on, pause is the sensor. They may be related. If sensor is bad, it may be leaning out the machine, so be careful or don't run until fixed. Google it.
