There are so many things you can do... all depends on preference and what you're looking to get out of it. I would strongly suggest you spend some time and do your research because clutching is a science and if you don't fully understand what you're doing then the changes you make could result in reduced performance rather than improved and you'll have no idea where to go. That being said, I'm not an expert either but do have some suggestions based on research I did this summer.
1. Install a factory clutch kit (Dynamo Joe, Cudney, etc.) - more expensive but you will be sure to get improvements. I have installed a Cudney kit and it is awesome!
2. Ski-Doo Green (180-303) secondary spring. It will keep the sled in low gear longer… more revs down low. You could also try the Purple (220-303) for a more drastic change but it will probably be too much if you ride powder… you'll be sure to trench.
For stock engagement rpm use stock purple/blue primary spring (160-290 PR/BL 415034900).
For higher engagement rpm use 200-290 spring.
For lower engagement rpm use 130-290 spring.
3. Green Secondary spring (180-303), GR/PR Primary spring (200-320) with 19-20g pins.
**Drop a tooth on top (or increase 2 on the bottom) for even better performance with any of the above set-ups. This is definitely worth it!!
On a good air day, sunny blue sky, cold with high barometer, click down.
When warm, humid, cloudy, foggy or low barometer, click up.
Carry a 1/4 drive ratchet with a short extension and a 10 mm socket with you for changing clickers on the fly for optimum performance.
Hope this gets you started.
