2006 Crossfire 700 dropped a cylinder

Looking for some feedback. So one of my Crossfire 700's dropped the pto side cylinder (still starts and runs on mag side), apparently a result an injector issue. We love the sled and prefer to repair and keep it. My concern with doing a top end is, what is the chance that trash entered the crankcase and would result in future issues? I see a lot of sleds for sale with "fresh top end" in the description.

Well, I've done 2 top ends. Dumped gas in the crankcase and suction gunned out the small fines of previous piston/rings.
1st go round had limited success but I believe that motor needed a total rebuild. The 2nd is still to soon to tell. Riding with fingers crossed

My 04 Sabercat just did same, 8000 miles, I should have put new top end in preventatively.. Now part of piston skirt is gone (in motor somewhere/everywhere) and cylinder is scored. Bottom line can buy another similar sled with less miles for what it will cost in parts.

Lean condition could have caused issues in your lower end as well.

Instead, getting a new sled as end of year discount are huge! Will do the top end much earlier this time, and going to part out the Sabercat.

Take it apart and go from there. See what is missing from piston/ring and do a good insection. My guess if you have run it on one cylinder and still can start it all peices have gone out exhaust already. I have never had a problem with peices after the fact. I do blow out with compressed air good also.
