The sled starts fine with the choke full on, but when warmed-up, won't idle unless the choke is on half. When riding, I can turn the choke off, but the motor hesitates and bogs. I was able to ride it about 15 miles, going around 50 mph. When I stopped and shut it down, the silencer was glowing red-hot to where the plastic started on fire at the exit. The motor was not over-heating, and was not as hot as the silencer. A few things I need to check:
dirty carbs
cracked carb boots
leaking boot gaskets
I let the sled set over-night to cool down. Next day, it started right-up with the choke on and I loaded it on the trailer without problems.
