Looking at a low mile used classic. Anyone know of any known problems? I was told about some belt wear and vibration issues on fusions.

I used to have one. Vibraaaation, yes. Starter bolt recall. My motor grenaded at 1200 miles. Other than that it was a good sled. I think they only made that big block 755 in 2 stroke for 1 year.

There were three engines for the original Fusion. 600 small block and 755 and 900 big-blocks. The 755 didn't seem to have the severity of problems that the 900 had. I think the 755 might have been introduced a bit later so it benefitted from early lessons on the 900.

There aren't that many 755'a around, which is too bad, the sledding magazine reviews on the 755 were generally very positive.

Actually the engine choices in the 2006 Fusion were: 600 HO (I bought 2) then the 700 which actually was a 755 and the 900 which was actually an 855...The 700 and 900 came from Polaris' watercraft line and unfortunately didn't quite live up to any of the hype...On the water these engines performed very well--But since Polaris left the watercraft arena, and had these engines around the engineers thought they'd create a sled and put them in...PROBLEM was the vibrations were out of control and many of the owners back then could not believe that a sled could vibrate as much as these did. Another problem many owners didn't care for was the difficulty in pull starting the machine...I for one am extremely happy with the 600 HO's I own and the Fusion chassis works very well for me. I hope this information helps.

The Fusion chassis really didn't have many issues. At least not that I know of- I'm not an expert. We have an 06 600 HO Fusion and it's awesome. No vibration. Rides great. Runs like a son of a gun. Friend has 900 and I swear it will rattle your fillings loose. BUT- he had all the updates done and has had no issues w/ it. It vibrates, but that's about the only problem he has had. I know nothing about the 700 version (sorry, not sure why I replied I guess). My point is that the 'fusion' got a bad rap b/c of the one motor. So polaris went and called it the IQ chassis (basically the same darn thing w/ a new name to bring back the skittish consumers). Find out info on that motor and make your decision from there. better yet- if you can ride it, give it a whirl. Like I said, friend has that 900 that was supposed to be awful and he thinks it's great. Had it for 4 years now and not one problem.

My buddy HAD a 2006 700(755) Fusion Classic and it vibrated terribly. He put isolators on the bars and that helped a little. The bad thing about this sled was that it was a 128" with M-10 rear suspension that rode great but it was ill handling in the corners. On twisty trails you would be beat after 10 miles. We tried everything to get that sled to handle better and never did get it right. He sold it and bought a 2007 600 CFI and it was a blast to ride. Also, it was not as fuel effcient as they claimed it to be, only 10 mpg. The power was ok, not arm stretching, just ok for a 700.

I own the 2006 700 fusion with the racing colors and has been a very good sled for the past 3500 miles. I also had the 2005 900 fusion that had all the belt issues. My son rides the 700 and loves it. Only had 1 problem around the 500 mile point the stator took a crap and the sled stopped running. Still was under warrentry and poo took care of it. Sled vibrates very little compared to its bigger brother that RAT 900 i used to own-
