Driving along fine today on Z1 1100 and ccu (wrench) light came on. No codes flashed, just a steady light. Shut sled off to clear light, it did not want to turn over or start. Waited about a minute, it started, no light. Drove back to Bergland to Timbers, shut it off, it started just fine.

I suspect the 5 year old battery is shot. I was driving with the helmet heater, GPS, and handlebar warmers on. Any other help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, I think I figured it out. First, you need to understand that I like to futz with electronics. So, I pulled over to futz with the gps and shut the sled off, which shut off the gps. So I turned on the ignition, which also turned on the heaters, headlights, helmet, etc. My guess is that since the battery is 6 years old all that drained it and the ccu light was simply saying low voltage.

I will replace the battery this week. Am I right?
