2007 Dragon 700 issues

Went for a short ride tonight and ended up pulling the dragon back home. Was going wide open when everything shut down and sled coasted to a stop. Pulled plugs and clutch side was dark opposite side was light tan. Motor did fire up but ran noticeably rough. Called my dealer and they speculate I may have one cylinder sticking, they have seen on a 600 a gasket getting sucked in resulting in a blown motor. Anyone have a similar issue happen or have any thoughts. I am dropping off at dealer tomorrow and sure am glad we took the four year warranty when we bought new.

You burned it down. Not a solid sieze, but enough to scuff it up and stick the rings. Probably low compression, but enough to run. At that temp, you are about 2-3 jet sizes too lean, if it is jetted for 15-20 above. Re-build it and re-jet if you want to do lake runs at WOT.

please take pics when you get it apart and post. interested to see whats going on in there. could have been a stuck thermostat. then again it could have been lots of things. I would check thermostat and fuel filter first.
first ride of the year?? fresh gas??

CARB'S FOR EVER, FUEL INJECTED NEVER!!!! Sorry, but i'm still old school when it comes to this new stuff, like rakins800 said it could be alot of things, but at the least you did have a four year warranty, so best of luck and yes I would like to some pic's also.

Alot of sleds in at the dealer this week with soft seize issues. I dont know how you were riding but it sounds like alot of these soft seizes is coming from snow dust. The snow dust is most of WI is bad right now. And the IQ chassis is terrible for sucking in snow. My brothers sled went down last friday night because of this we believe. Its time to seal up the intakes. Especially around the headlight.

I will not be able to provide pics as dealer will be doing the work I dropped off this afternoon. I did not touch it hoping the warranty will cover it. I am not sure about the snow dust factor, I was in the lead does that make a difference? A couple other things to add is that I have an SLP pipe and canister that I have run the last two seasons. In the off season I had the SLP air intake and clutch kit added and this is the fourth ride this season with new set up. Again not sure if any of this makes a difference or if it is just coincidence. I read alot last year about bad stators on the 700 motor, could that be a factor? I am awaiting news from my dealer as to how bad the damage is and will update as i get info. On the good side they promise me a sled to ride while mine is in the shop, I got my eye on a 09 800 IQ. No interest in switching brands, I am smart enough to know that all makes have had their share of issues through the years.

Test ride

Dragon. If the dealer is going to give you a sled to use see if you can get a rush. Then you can tell us what you think of it.

jay, I already tried that unfortunately the one they have for a demo is not set up yet because they have one mechanic out with a medical condition which i can vouch for as he was not there for the last three weeks. They did tell me before the season started that I will get to ride it so i will keep after them. I am planning on buying a Rush in March, just hoping they drop an 800 in one rather than a 600!

What are the areas that are allowing the snow dust in. I don't want any snow dust in my intake of my 2007 Switchback CFI. I have sealed the drain hole in the dash that drains into the intake and I know that the head light adjuster needs to be closed off but are there more areas that need to be sealed?
