2007 f100 hood spar's and nose cone

Not completely familiar with all the different f chassis hood color schemes, I have a 2007 f100 lxr and the hood spars nose cone and tank trim are gray and would like to replace with black, does anyone know what f-chassis model would have had these in black, not concerned about decaling just color. Or has anyone had any luck with painting these panels without the paint just chipping off with slight abrasion, I'm assuming being a smooth plastic painting is a bad idea.

Instead of replacing or painting, why not try a vinyl wrap. After time or when you go to sell it you can always remove the wrap.

Thought of that too, may end of doing that, had the seat recovered so the gray strip is no longer in that would just like to black the machine out.

08 Nightfire was all black. I wish I could tell you accurately if they changed the spar assemblies.
I did try painting some of the parts. Plastic body panel paint was OK, but it did flake. Panel replacement isn't super easy but holds up better. Later year models are colored through the panel.
I have wrapped quite a few sleds including the Twin Spar. Wrap material varies quite a bit. Sleds get beat up quite a bit in cold temps. Some materials just are not up to the flexing.

Thanks favoritos, I will do some research on that, painting plastic never a good idea even with the paints that bond to plastic I'm sure those panels flex even when riding and can only imagine how they would look even after a short while not to mention abrasions, I considered wrapping but nose cone would be a treat to do, I will check into Night fire, Thank you again!
