Remove yourself from sled and replace with Ski Doo ,problem solved. Just playin!! I tried two 07 yama dogs, I was not happy with the handling and went back to Ski Doo. The yamaha dealership in greenland told me to put a dually on the brake side ski, this eliminated the darting but I still wasn't happy with the corner to corner. My two cents, I wish Doo had that r1 motor in one of their sleds.

Respectable Yam dealer told me unsafe at any speed don't buy one. I wanted for a ditch banging toy. Test rode one seemed alright to me but I took him at his word. You should contact Bergstrom Skegs as first step. Try new triple points & take from there. Entry level sled I would not spend too much on on it but triples will calm darting on stock skis.

LOL For not being a safe sled i sure seem to rip thru the trails doing high speeds and can throw this machine around its comfortable its like riding my dirt bike.. I have read alot on this issue with this phazer fx and ive been told by a guy at my local dealer that other customers have replaced ski's.. any suggestions to a good ski?
ive looked a c&a skis, and going with some higher end carbides.. would studding the track calm this poor handling down or not? I do very aggresive trail riding and travel at very high rate of speed thru trails both in upper and lower michigan this sled is perfect for ripping thru lower michigan trails, however in the u.p this sled needs 2 of these 80 hp engines i would like to see yamaha put atleast a 130 hp motor in this sled and beef up the steering and suspension..

phazerfx, my customers have been giving me good reviews with Sly dog skis. A woody's Slim Jim would make a world of difference on your stock Ski's if you would like a cheaper alternative. Good Luck! Kip

I have to second barneymn try out Totallyamaha.com and go to the Phazer general talk forums and do some research. I have a 07' Attak and the Yamaha skis were getting a real bad rap on these sleds but after putting a 1/4" thick shim under the rear of the rubber ski bumper to raise the front of the ski keel 1/4" off the snow it doesn't dart any more maybe there is something similiar for the Phazers.

I ride mainly off trail but the bit of trail riding I did with my mtn lite I found a great response with ski doo precision ski's. I actually highly recommend them. I believe the Simmons gen 1 ski's would be as good if not better. I am not familiar with the ski's Kip recommended but he knows his stuff so they should also be a good option.

the rubber bumper under the saddle had to be cut to fit, no big deal.
I cut the spacers to fit. It been a while but I believe I used some of the doo ski hardware. I bought the doo ski's for $100 used, had like new carbides. I didnt have to buy anything else. They were the same diameter holes and all. If you cut the spacers narrow and wide, you can adjust the width of the stance.
I was easy, if you are handy, you will just look at all the parts and see a plan.

I found 6" slydog ski's with 4.5" stud boy shaper bars with loops and mounting hardware for 329.00. Is that a GOOD deal or what?
