2007 Polaris Dragon 700 Top Speed Issues

I recently purchased a 2007 Polaris Dragon. Bottom and Middle throttle response seems spot on. Can't get it over 86mph though. Occasionally when I reach mid 80's it briefly bogs. Fuel economy is 10-12 mpg. Sled idles great and also starts on second pull. My last sled was the 06 Fusion 700 and I could hit 109mph. Any suggestions?

Torn bellow exhaust valve.

I would agree with that. Also, check to make sure the throttle cable is set up right. If not, you're losing RPM's and speed. Track tension? check that also.

I had a 700 and thought it was a dog compared to my 600. Ran much better with higher octane (93) fuel than it did on 87.

Rebuild the valves, check the throttle, then check compression. I ran over 100 on mine, for whatever those speedos are worth and I'm not talking Wayne's weight x 2.5!

snoeatr has it right. It is related to your exhaust bellows. Either the spring is broken, or the bellow has a hole in it. No big deal just replace it and you should be back to 100 MPH. This happens to me every year and I just replace them and it is good to go. Dont forget to clean them and order new gaskets because you might need it when you take them off if it rips.

Thank you. Both valves were clogged. One valve had broken spring and the other had a hole in bellow. I don't think either valves were opening. I replaced all. Very easy. I put on 171 miles on Friday and hit 104mph with more to go.
