2007 Ski Doo GSX Overheat

Riding Eagle River past weekend. Sled ran hot on routes/pavement frozen trails etc. Got in woods/snow and cooled down. On way home sled beeped 20 times flashing temp/engine lights. Trailered home/cooled and ran it for 15 minutes idle and seemed fine/low running temp.
Should I worry-its sleeping for summer now.

Sounds to me like it was the poor riding conditions. Was riding last week under similar conditions, my sled was running warmer than usual (it has auxiliary radiator and fan so no overheat) but my buddies' sleds were on the verge of overheating. I don't think I'd worry about it.

Thanks, The only thing that gives/gave me pause was I ran plenty of oil and collant. I thought liquid cooled sleds were OK even in warmer conditions. My 440 fan ran fine.

Never hear of Water Wetter before. Looked this up and sounds interesting. Is there a downside to using this?
Used Water Wetter in 2007 Attak GT worked well for me but you have to know what you are doing Water Wetter is not an antifreeze. Yamaha went to rear heat exchanger in 09 on all Apex end of problem. In this case GSX does not overheat & would have been better to sit out low cooling & lube conditons .....never good to overheat your engine or melt hyfax & both happen in low snow conditions.

Dont know if there is a downside...just mix accoring to directions...run it in all my sleds and vehicles...it dropped my runnin temp on my truck by almost 15 deg. Don't have actual temp gauges on my sleds to know how much it dropped them. Only takes a little bit in the sled. As stated this is not a replacement for anti freeze but an aditive. See what your mix ratio is now. I run mine about 55/45. Some guys run 60/40 some run 50/50 so I decided to go between. My wifes 07 Blizzard would get warm in low snow conditions. That is when I started doing this with the sleds and have never had a problem since. But I think ice stratchers (I use the cable kind) help a lot also.

Yes-I figured conditions would be tough on the GSX but...last ride of season-rolled the dice. Still enjoyable-woods riding was real nice and fast.

Yep, need to get snow on that heat exchanger so it can cool properly. 440 fan relies only on air cooling so no heat exchangers to worry about. As stated, low snow not good for hyfax on either sled.
