2008 FX Nytro RTX, Good Sled... Bad Sled?

Just picked up a a new sled with picks and dual carbides installed. Does anybody know from experience whether this sled is as good as it gets for its year class? Is it really a rough trail dominator or are there better sleds out there for rough trails? Any bad habits or known performance problems to speak of? Is ski darting really an issue? This machine is equipped with Fox Float shocks, air adjustable. Are these good shocks? Are the newer nitrogen based shocks worth changing over too? What would be the ideal front end air pressure for best handling in moguled trails or smooth to fair conditions?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ride On!

Oh yeah rough trail sled for sure & Fox Float shocks are made for banging. The 2008 I rode was a fun ride & cold ride great motor plenty of power. You will need to get your Nytro sorted out for your style but you did buy a bump sled no doubt. TY is the place for for very technical questions. Have fun!

Oh my god, what a great website for info specific. I appreciate your insight! I read a post about the forward subframe being susceptible to bending due to medium trail impacts. And another about Yamaha coming out with a newer subframe to correct the weakness... Hope I never find out! I will say though... with the a-arms sticking out there... there is a lot of fulcrum potential to bend the sub frame easily. Any thoughts from your side?

Thanks Whitedust for the confirmation... TY is a very cool site for sure. Gonna take my time one adjustment at a time to get her dialed in. I came from a Yamaha Venture 700, 2-up.... Wify decided enough is enough on the back end... New sled has just incredible throwback performance... What a switch! Thanks much for your reply, Happy Trails!
