Is this a common concern with the Shift 600 for 2008?? I have a 2001 Polaris 600 XCSP and it gets 4-5 miles to the gallon better than the IQ Shift any suggestions. Right now the Shift gets only about 9-10 MPG it is carbed and all stock. Thanks

Had an '08 and don't recall it ever getting that low of mpg's. Not sure what to check, but unless you're riding wide-open all the time, it should get much better. I had been getting 13-16 with mine.

How many miles on the sled? They get better after break in if it's new. Otherwise you can play the fuel screws to decrease the fuel amount.

Factory jetting on the 600 liberty's is factory set for worst-case conditions so it's going to run rich. 9-10 MPG for stock jetting is not unusual and yes with the right main jets you can get 13-15 depending on how you ride, you'll just need to be careful if the temps drop into the -10's or more.

If you compare the main jets on the 2001 to the shift I bet you'll find they're at least 2 sizes smaller, maybe more. And you'll find tan spark plug color in the 2001, black/sooty on the 2008.
