I know the mapping on these sleds have been off. Ive heard the SLP power commander is the way to go for gettin rid of the mid range hic-up. Is that true? Also what are some good mods for it after getting rid of the stutter. Thinking about possibly a pipe and clutch kit.

Thanks guys

take it in to your dealer for the correct reflash, the latest one works really well to get rid of that hiccup

I just purchased a new 2010 800 dragon switchback. I have always had 600's. Do you think I will notice the bog in the midrange and is it an easy fix at the dealer.? think ssnow!

Reflash

just had the latest flash done to my IQ 800. AWSOME!!!! Finally, polaris got it right. Only took them 3 years and 4 reflashes. Seriously though; it runs great, no burps or hesitation. Loads of power.

Get the newest reflash this one will fix your 2009 800 IQ or Dragon.

I'm getting mine redone in 2 weeks.

Mine runs great, but the new reflash this last summer makes your sled run even faster.

The dealer told me to get it done much faster runs better.

Polaris has finally got it right on the 800 sleds they will run like they should.

I reflashed my 09 800 this fall with this final mapping. Makes a HUGE difference. No more hiccup at all. VERY snappy throttle response, feels like so much more power along the whole band..... Really happy about it!

WOW!......i got the latest reflash and the sled runs much better. I now have a clutch kit and it pulls hard all the way through, very fast. Bikeman pipe is going in it tomorrow and this thing will really rip. Can't wait to get on it again.

Im about to buy an '09 switchback dragon 800. its an amazing deal so i am gonna go for it, but i have heard polaris had problems with their 800 engines from '08-'10, mostly the mapping.

so does the reflashing completely fix this issue?
should i get the reflashing done right away, no matter what?
roughly how much did the dealers charge for this?

thanks

Get the newest reflash that is out, my 2009 800 dragon in 2 days gets the newest reflash that came out this last summer the dealer told me to get it. I had the third reflash last Feb it runs great, but the newest one gives you close to 110 mph top end, and gets the bog out at 55 to 65 mph when you hit the throttle. This is the last reflash and is #4 reflash that Polaris has finally got it right.

$40 to have it reflash but a different dealer, the warranty was 2 years, everything works great, this just makes it faster to beat other 800 sleds.

I bought a 2010 800 IQ in december, ran great until the engine blew at 600 miles. The dealer found an inch of H2O in the fuel tank and told me to check with my fuel supplier, who assured me his tanks are clean, he blamed the problem on the cooling rods running under the fuel tank causing condensation in the fuel tank. When I read the Polaris owners manual tech update add-on paper that recommends to ALWAYS use isopropyl de-icer @1oz/gal,it all made sense. Those cooling rods are always warming up the fuel in the tank above, creating condensation every time, worse on very cold days. The dealer had told me to add the de-icer "once in a while" when I bought it, not good enough, has to be "always".Fixed the motor on warranty, and loaned me a new 600IQ during the repairs,so no complaint there.Love everything about this sled. Fingers crossed...

Always give your tank a splash of Isopropyl ever night or every morning when filing your gas tank. Only this not heat or any other thing it will eat your fuel lines. Even the best gas out there, when you have swings in temp this will cause water to form in your fuel tank.
