2010 Yamaha Snowmobile Magazine Advertisements

Now I probably shouldn’t say this but then if you know me…anyway, have you ever seen "C H E E S I E R" ads in all your life? Did they hire a twelve year old to write them? You know the ones I am referring to, full page, bottom half touting Yamaha top half taking shots at all other brands, very professional, makes me want to run out and buy one. All I can say is wow; you think someone in management would realize how stupid they are. Whatever happened to the basic sales philosophy that says you should never attack the competition, just sell virtues of your product…LMAO

Whitedust, as of today I do not have any details on Doo 4s for next season, should go live on skidoo.com sometime the week of the 22nd. I head to dealer meeting that same week and will have seen all the new 2011 sleds will have all details and pricing upon my return 3/1.

I have to agree with Marty here. Stupid ads. All time best ads were some AC ads about 10 years ago. Guys in their suits inside freezers. They were good funny ads that offended nobody.

Marty, I'm guessing that they hung around you and listened to you bash everything but Skidoo and thought they'd give it a try:p

X2 Marty. We've sparred about this in the past. :).......And, for the record, of all the Yamaha's I have ever owned (and still do) not one of them has ever been in the shop with problems.

EVER.

Why would I buy anything else?

But I doo [sic] have friends I ride with that have had their exhaust manifold bolts work their way out or shear off of their yellow sleds....... MORE THAN ONCE! As far as I'm concerned, Bombardier should stick to biz jets......They're definitely some of the best made!

I think there funny as heck, but then I own a Yamaha. I guess if you own the brand they are making fun of you wouldn't see the humor, truth hurts I guess :)
Seriously though, I think it's just good fun. No different than Ski doo's ad a few years back showing sleds with weights on the front hood.

I own yamaha and find it very offensive when I see the other "3" bragging of there race wins in there ads.....

LOL

Just watched a 10 min. Doo video the other day and they kept pullin these stupid bar graphs outta there butts to make there points of Doo superiority...LOL
LOL to see that out of the 1/2 doz. bar graphs touting MPG and low emissions, tey left Yammie off the chart,....only put yammie in one graph when comparing weight....and they were throwin the Yammie up against there 2 smokes....thrilling to say da least

Marty, are you serious? Letting an add upset you, is there some truth to the add or something? Is that you in the picture? LOL. (just kidding).

Marty,
I have Snowtech Jan/Feb issue & if you are talking about the "Become A Snowmobile Durability Engineer In 2 weeks Ad". I mean come on that is darn funny stuff!! Yamaha goes on to talk about the Yamaha Advantage pretty much standard 4s stuff. No where in ad does Yamaha mention any other brand. BS degree in Ducttapeology got to make you smile. This is the best ad Yamaha has had since Johnny & Bunny. Of course more Bunny is always a good thing & hope to see a lot more of Bunny in 2011. :<) lol

Loyal Yamaha rider (some not so good, like '81 SRX) for 20 years but these ads embarrass me. With the new models, seems they are back to traditional ads, pitching product straight forward. If they want humor, I'm ok with that but they need to find a new agency that can do this right like some of the other brands have done successfully.

Chad, talk about calling the kettle black, you know I never talk negative about other brands, that is one of my virtues…heck you have been one of my best salespeople this year.

Skylar, now I never said I was upset, just an observation is all, heck it’s hard to be upset about to much these last few years. I liken myself a little more to the dude in the sombrero with the spark plugs from last month.

By the way all, it was just a casual observation, some take life way to seriously, lol…

I think the Yamaha Ads are pretty funny, definitely something different coming from the Yamaha camp. They are all going to go after each other and poke at faults, that's just the way marketing goes.

I buy a lot of APV oil, I think M&M Powersports should just start running a tanker up to the house for me. Chad Maybe we can convert my furnace to run APV instead of Heating oil!

I would get that Fresh New APV scent all the time

Chad, I’m glad you qualified for everyone that this is all in good fun, sometimes I think that gets forgotten. We send our love. lol…

Stack, I like the APV in place of the fuel oil, baby fresh all the time, neighbors would love it.

p.s. Chad, I am actually from Iowa, born and raised, only went to Chicago (18 years) to work in the "big city", holy wah...
