Not quite sure how your suppose to snow check a 11/12,000 dollar sled without knowing the powerplant. Vic i see you have a fusion thats what i traded in for my 2010 800 switchback do you have a 6 or a 9?

my 2010 800 switchback QUOTE]

latebraker, have you had any problems with you 2010 800 switchy??

I'm asking because I heard the 2010 switchy's had a different map than the RMK's and were not having motor problems. I'm also guessing that if they found a combo that works (switchy map) then they would be putting that in to the 2011's. Just my thought.

a little stumble but nothing to serious, my buddy who i ride with has a 2009 renegade and he gets me to 90 but from 90 to 100 i get him every time. I think next year I am going to install that power commander i hear it really cleans things up.

2011 800 Rush

Just to add some fuel to the fire - There is a proto 800 Rush running around over here that is noticeably stronger than the 2010 800 Dragon. Like about 10 mph on top end. There are 3500 miles on the motor and it has supposedly never been apart. It will lift the skis at 70 mph. It even has a functional windshield. I am not making this up. Apex will still beat it on top. Pol guys - go ask your dealers.

Inetresting, my dealer doesnt seem to know much yet! How far are you from Rosseau Grub?

65 miles from Roseau. 65 miles from Thief River Falls. Both companies run test sleds right in front of my store all winter long. I know lots of guys from Roseau. Some of these guys get to ride the protos so they can give input back to Pol. I ride with one of these guys on occasion. He also got to ride a Fusion 900 years ago the season before it went into production. The Fusion was a piece of vibrating, ill turning garbage from the start. This new 800 Rush seems to be the opposite. The proto he had was one of four built. They have spent a lot of time out in the mountains with them and they only recently brought them back to Roseau. The tunnel had about 50 holes drilled in it - it looks as though they had been playing with different suspensions and/or adjustments. This one was set up for weight transfer to impress the magazine companies that came to visit. The production models won't have as much weight transfer. Anyway, that is what he was told. His current ride is an '09 Switch. It has been through all the updates and while it doesn't blow up anymore it is a dog. There is also a guy with a '10 Dragon from Roseau that we used for comparison. Again, it has all the updates. The Switch and the Dragon are a dead heat in just about all conditions. This new thing blows them away. The only thing my bud could find to bitch about was that it tended to get snow on his back. Otherwise he was very impressed. Whether or not this is the set-up and engine that will be sold remains to be seen BUT it has been proven (to me, anyway) that POL CAN build a smoker if they want to. I got off the Pol bandwagon long ago but if they can actually produce this sled I will be taking a long look. I am on an Apex now and although the engine is bulletproof there is no way it will ever have the suspension capabilities of the Rush both front and rear. I really was impressed!

Latebraker, the power commander does make a nice difference. I was able to ride an RMK 144 with it installed vs. an Assault and it does smooth things out. The Assault was clutched way different but the power commander is a nice addition.

I have a 700. Just trying to figure out what kind of sled to get in the future. I will stick with polaris and the new RMK is just itching me.

My bad I forgot about the 700 isnt actually a 755? I actually really liked my fusion other than the fact it pushed in the corners, 2700 miles on the original belt. I really like the 2010 switchback, according to the polaris website they arent doing a 136" this year with the 800. I am not sure I can justify a 144" for 80% trail riding, not that I am in the market this year. The next year or so should definately be interesting across the board.

Thats what I hear is the best fix along with the slp pipe. Not sure I want to spend the $650.00 for the pipe with the power commander because combined the pipe only adds 3 or so hp. Will see in the fall, knowing me whatever is available. hehe. I do have a clutch kit, I really like the sled some guys have had nothing but headaches, more so on the 2009's it seems.
