2013 Adventure gear change

Anyone know why the gear change on the 2013 Adventure(22/40), 2012(23/39). It seems from the change that there will be less top end on the 2013.

Is that on the 600 or 800 or both? I have a 2012, and top end was a bit light I thought.

I have a 2012 600 Adventure with 23/39 gears, the 2013 600 Adventure has 22/40 gears, the way I figure it from the ratio change, you would lose about 5-6mph top end on the 2013.
