2014 indy 550

My niece just bought a very nice low mile 2014 Indy 550. It has not been used last season and very little before that. It will not start and there is a fuel leakage that may be fuel float issue. Do you think that carb cleaning may be her answer? What is a common problem on this sled?

Thanks in advance

I had a '11 or '12 IQ 550, burnt down at 317 miles. 3rd ride.
Hoping this is not your issue but happened to me.
Same engine even though chassis change.

I would not run a sled that has sat with gas in the carbs (even with stabile) over the summer, pull the carbs and clean them also drain the gas and replace it with new.

Hope you got a really good deal on it. I THINK it's possible to do a cold engine compression check (somebody chime in please?) and that's where I would start with this engine. If compression is good then move to the carbs as suggested here. This engine (as Sweeperguy can attest to) seems to be....uh...a little fickle?

I would most defiantly pull the carbs and at least inspect them, I looked up the jets and I think you could replace the main and pilot jet on both carbs for under $30 or clean them if they are not that bad. They are just round body slide carbs which are super easy to work on.
I would drain all the fuel from the tank and start fresh including pulling the motor over with the carbs off to pump the fresh gas through and run a little premix in the tank 100:1 and change the plugs
Just my 2 cents

she decided to take it to a dealer who will clean carbs and check it out for about $200.00, money well spent i hope

Thanks everyone for your input, hoping for a good year of riding!!!
