Two weeks away! Hoping to be there - if you’re headed up that way the morning of the 18[SUP]th[/SUP], stop by and check out the vintage lineup before lunch. If you’re a vintage guy, it’s definitely a great event to attend with lots of riding to be had. I’ll try to post a few shots from the event in a couple of weeks.

Time to make sure the sleds are ready. Some of you may remember this project from a few years back. Hadn’t done much to it since then but decided to make one big improvement this year, a shiny new Team Rapid Response clutch from Dirty Dawg Performance. Wow, does it make a difference! The snoluver1-built 440 is a beast and it can finally get its full potential on the snow. Based on my test ride, I’m not 100% sure I dare ride this sled as fast as it will go (at my age mortality becomes a more important concept).

In any case, the goal is to pick up a 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Iron Man sticker for this sled.

Looking good Kelly! You hanging around at all after the weekend? I'm coming up for a few days at the beginning of the week and would be fun to meet up.

Shoot! Gary, we're like ships passing in the night. I'm actually going to be up there early (Mon.) and my plan is try to do some late model riding Tues. and/or Wed before the Thurs. ride. I decided to book in early since I have to head back on Sunday this year.

Since it looks like we're both locked in on schedule for this year, maybe we can coordinate some dates for next year. Agree, it would be fun to get together. If anything changes on your end, let me know. I will do likewise.

Man that looks great! I just love the look of those TX motors, my favorites by a long shot!! Plenty of dash room for many more stickers. :)

Man what a bummer.......I so want to make this trip but once again I have some things taking way too much of my time. I had that week scheduled for vacation and I had to cancel because of issues at work.... Hopefully next year I can make it.

Yeah, I’m also a big fan of the free air engines and when they went to the bigger fin motors it gave them an even beefier look. Maybe someday I’ll run across a deal on a sled that has the cylinders sticking through the hood. Still kind of kicking myself for passing on a decent 72 Colt SS a couple of years back.

Kirk, I have no doubt you’ll make it one of these years. Long way to go for a vintage ride but if you can throw in some late model riding it could make for a nice trip.

Oh Yeah! The TX picked up sticker number 4. Snow and weather was awesome on Thursday. Maybe the best Iron Man riding conditions I've seen. Snow was like riding on a pillow.

This sled was restored from the ground up by a young guy (maybe 13 or 14) and it won Best Restoration in the Saturday show. There were a LOT of nice sleds in the show which makes the win even more impressive and it was deserved. The sled looked and sounded great and yes, it did run the Iron Man.

Loved the “Mountain Twister” - Running a 144 track and a 500 Polaris liquid. Really well done, you’d be hard-pressed to tell that it wasn’t available as a stock sled in 76.

Things got a little soft on the Saturday ride but what a day for taking breaks and enjoying the views.

Adding a little 80 second video trailer from this year's ride. I didn't add any background sound to some segments so don't adjust your set.

Haven't done this for a while so hopefully I won't screw it up.

Great video and pics! I love the guy jumping at the start of the video and then the TX running into the back of another TX. It looked like the guy that got hit had the old racer suit on like I used to have. I had to smile watching the Arctic Cat do the mashed potato speed run! LOL Looks like a great time with fresh snow.

Actually Adam, you’re the one that deserves congrats for building one tough engine. These high revving free-air motors are usually not very happy at the temps we had on Friday and Saturday but it was solid all weekend. By the way, I still have all my engine shipping crates but doubt that I'll ever need them again.

Pretty sharp eye there Mark. The guy with the suit that was riding the TX races them when he’s back home. Not sure if he still wears that suit when racing but I’m guessing that if he doesn't, he did use it at one time.

I laugh every time I watch the Arctic Cat speed run. I love how he crouches down behind the windshield to cut wind resistance.
