What are people seeing for mpg on the 650's. I heard around 17mpg I know it depends on how your riding but just curious.

I received my VR1 650 in early January but haven't paid attention to mpg. I do know the thing rips!

Did 400 miles on a rental Matryx 650 with 137 track and 3,300 miles on the ODO and got 15.2. Never took it over 82MPH and on grades kept it around 70.

Thanks Fugi, did you rent from Track Side? Just curious. My friend and I are thinking on renting the 650's from Track Side maybe Tuesday to try them out. If you did any suggestions on which way to ride? We were thinking on heading east along 70 to Tipler cuz we thought that would be less pounded.

I would drive the extra 30 or so miles in the car to Headwaters Polaris in Watersmeet (Trackside owns them) and start there. Backpack up to Houghton for the night and do a loop to Copper Harbor and back down to Watersmeet the next day.

If you ride with 850s probably about 12. If you ride with other 650s then I'm sure 18 is possible. If you buy a snowmobile to conserve fuel and have competitions to see who can get the best mileage you would save even more money if you just stayed home on your couch and watch Ice Road Truckers or some other mindless reality show.
