4-stroke engine oil question

If I had a 4 stroke I'd change oil when I put it up for summer. When I do the summerization. Same as I do snowblower, and lawnmower when its put up for winter. My cheapo Sears lawnmower ran fine for 22 or so years, gave it away cuz I wanted a self propelled mower. As far as I know it's still going 3 years later. Even synthetic oil gets contamination in it and acidification, happens to all oils in internal combustion engines. Seems like cheap insurance to change oil at least yearly.

I do & average 3500 miles so due but bud doesn't with Vector but not many miles for him on his oil like 800 miles.....no problems with Vector has me thinking low miles maybe not? Another bud with doo 1200 didn't even change oil after break in.. I was like baffled with that attitude! Filter should be fine Yamaha is like every 12,000 miles for filter or something goofy like that. Most are very conservative with oil & filter changes...can't hurt but syn oil is good stuff does not foam or break down easily.

I change the oil and filter at the end of the season regardless of miles. I also had the spark plugs changed this fall during some maintenance when the valve cover was off. Just the same, the old plugs looked brand new after 3500 miles.

Yeah don't change plugs until you get to 10K miles or so & might not need them then on a Yammy 4s. If you flooded engine then maybe want to change.

I change Oil and Filter on my 1200 Skidoo's and my Can am 4 Wheelers every spring. 10W 40 Mobil one. I haven't changed a Plug since I went 4 Stroke.

Normally I do it in the fall before winter hits. I generally use Mobil 1 or Amsoil and a good Wix filter. This season I did not only for the fact I only put 3-400 miles on last season. The oil still looked super clean. I will change it again this fall though.
