While staying at Krupp's Resort in Twin Lakes, Michigan helping with the Trail Cleanup/Brushing this weekend, one of the bear hunters also staying at Krupp's brought in an unbelievable black bear that he shot with his bow from 28 yards. Meathead (from this site) and I were sitting around the campfire listening to the other bear hunters stories and waiting on this thing to come in because it was supposed to be a big one. Well about 10:30 pm they drove in with the bear in the back of a pickup and it filled up the whole truck bed. A group of guys hoisted her up on Richard Krupp's scale and it bottomed out a 440 lb scale fieldressed - with its insides thats a 500+ pounder shot with a bow!!!!! It measured over 6 feet long from tail to nose and may be the record bow kill in michigan this year and is the biggest brought into Krupp's Resort. The other cool thing was this was a father/son hunt and the son got the bear. Richard and Sandy Krupp run an awesome resort in the Keweenaw for all types of outdoor recreation and are the best people you could ever meet - whether sledding, riding ATV's, fishing, hunting or just want to enjoy the great north woods I highly recommend Krupp's Resort as your home away from home.
