671 Days

In a previous thread I told you guys that I had 7 sleds sitting in the garage since March of 2023 and was concerned about the gas. We rode to Shillelagh in Manitowish Waters on March 17th, 2023, for St. Pats party and then parked the sleds in the garage. Last year happened and the trails never opened. Today that grief came to an end. Kids came up to Presque Isle and it was time to pull the sleds out of an unforeseen, extended, hibernation. All of them fired up, other than a dead battery which needed a little help, and we hit the trails. I brought extra plugs in case one of them crapped out due to the stale gas. I'm knocking on wood that all of them ran like a champ and even though it was only about a 50-mile loop today, and marginal trail conditions, they all did great. Presque Isle trails were groomed on Friday night and were pretty decent, considering the weekend traffic. Manitowish Waters trails, not so much. 6E looks like it has not been touched this season. The 671-day drought has come to an end.

Bob, you probably burned half a tank of that old fuel. Another 50 mile ride and you can put some fresh gas in them. Happy for you that everything went well!

Kids leaving tomorrow after riding today but the wife and I are staying another week. Looking forward to riding during the week. Heavy traffic yesterday on the trails and standing room only at 30 Point Tap and The Retreat. Getting back to normal winter up here and even though I am not a fan of crowds, it was great to see local businesses come back to life and cash flowing back in.
