93 ext 550 carb question

My brother bought this sled that had leaned out and burned up. He already owns one machine like it. Using his sled has reference has he rebuilt the burned up sled. When he got to carbs he an extra verticle hole in the right hand side(boot side) of the carb body which is open. We are thinking that at high end this maybe what cause the sled to lean out sucking in to much air.

his orginal carb number is 116 above 22
burnt sled carb number is v1 above 2 2

need more info. is that on the out side of the carb? if it is and it is on the left side and between the carb. and the motor. it will have a screw in it. it is for syncing or maybe a primer.

No it is on the rigtht between the carb and air box. the sync screw is there. Both carbs looks the same except for this extra hole, clean bore no threads.
