Ok - My 11 yr olds Indy Lite (340 cc) is driving me nuts.
The sled idles great, but with the engine warm and driving at 1/8 - 1/4 throttle and if you try to accelerate it bogs down until it dies.
If I catch it in time and I'll turn the choke on all the way and feather the throttle until the RPM's increase. Take the choke off & it goes like crazy all the way to full throttle. Slow down and it does the same thing.
Here's what I've done:
- Cleaned the carbs (twice)
- New head & exhaust gaskets
- New spark plugs
- Drained the gas & added 91 octane with a splash of Seafoam
- New fuel filter
- Adjusted the choke cables
- Jet needle in the 2nd slot from the top
- Air screws set at 1 1/2 turns
Since the problem is at 1/8 - 1/4 throttle I'm thinking about turning the air screws out another 1/4 turn and if that doesn't work maybe dropping the jet needle to the top slot.
But since it's my 11 yr old driving & he spends a lot of time driving around the yard below 1/2 throttle I don't want to lean it out to much.
Thoughts? Am I heading in the right direction or just chasing my tail.
Thanks - Skutr
