I’m looking at a Yamaha V max rear suspension shock package Pro Action for my 97 VMAX 600. These shocks came off a 1999 Yamaha V max 600 snowmobile. The rear, primary shock measures 18 and 3/8 inches eye center to eye center. The front skid frame shock measures 13 inches eye center to eye center. I am not sure how to measure what the current set-up is on my sled so was hoping someone could help me figure this out? Or maybe someone knows if this package will fit my sled?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

The 97 v-max SX had shorter shocks than the other v-max models. If the other sled is an SX, it will work. If the other sled has the longer travel pro action the shocks will be longer. If you change the metal straps that run beside the rear shock, and remove the drop brackets on the ski shocks you will be able to use the longer shocks. Also need to swap the front limiter strap. If you want to retain your ride hight you need the SX shocks.
I have owned several of both v-maxs and learned by experience.
If you measure the free length of the rear shock, i think the diff is 1.5 inches.
