I have a 98' formula deluxe ski doo with a 583 motor. It has just over 10,000 miles on it and I was wondering if there's anything that I should check on this sled with this many miles? I do regular maintenance, grease, slides, check fluids, plugs, etc., and it runs fine. I just want to know if there's something that maybe I'm missing and should have checked.

Check the front suspension bushings and rod ends for excessive play and corrosion. Might want to pull the alum. heat shield and insulation from the pipe and check for rust and holes. Get it welded up and patched if there are any and clean it up and re-finish w/ heat paint. Holes in exhaust will hurt performance. Not much you can check on the motor, 583's are pretty strong, so just run it till it breaks. I would pull the clutches apart and clean and inspect real good. A new primary spring would probably bring some life to the drive line, as they can sack out after a few years. Check the clutch faces for cracks coming from the center outward. Clean up the faces w/ a scotch brite pad. ( I do this while its running, but you don't have to do it that way). Shock shaft corrosion will kill the suspension seals, and a new set of rear torsion springs would freshen up the rear suspension a bit.

I always found that a 2" bar riser was great on these as the bars tend to hit the knees if your over 6 ft. tall.
