A/C Power Valve Cables

I cleaned the power valves on my '06 600 Sabercat this weekend. I noticed one of the cables must be fraying inside the shroud because it was making a nasty noise and I could fell it rubbing. So I was going to pull the cable out from between the heads to get a replacement. It's a real snug fit and it hangs up when I try to get it out. I'm afraid if I get it out I won't be able to get the new one in. So my questions are:
Do I have to pull the heads to get these cables out?
If not, what is the procedure?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You do not need to pull the head. They are tight, but they will go. There is a rubber piece that holds the cables together. Make sure that is removed. It seems impossible, but at the right angle, with some finesse they will go.
