Looks like a great day for snowshoeing. My family and I started snowshoeing this year, and I love it. What a great way to spend some time in the woods during winter.

Great pics. And a great way to get out and enjoy the winter. Looks like everyone earned their cup of hot chocolate.:)

It was fun. we did go for about 45 mins or so. my cousin and her two kids joined up with us and had fun as well.

The little ones did earn their hot chocolate. My wife has a really good pair of snowshoes and I have a cheapo set. I can say that if I do this as much as she does, it pays to have a good set as some clips are in bad places on mine and cause them to bind with the normal foot movement.

It's getting to the point with the snow and cold that I'm anxious for spring. At least the sun is starting to peak out here and there.

Magnesium snowshoes are $60 at Army Surplus and Fleet Farm, for deep snow i like them the best.

Sportsman Guide had them for $20-$25 two years ago. I picked up two pair with nylon bindings. Might be worth checking out? They where the magnesium surplus and came in great shape with only a couple scratches

Yeah I was gonna mention there cheaper online, when i checked this year they were $39, there so cheap cause they are military surplus. U.S. and Canadian soldiers use them. Also if you get in a bind and need a fire starter you can shave some grindings off them and it will flame right up! lol i have never done it though.
