A Winter's Day in Wisconsin

Here's a video clip that was recorded this past weekend in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. If you ride in this area of the state you'll recognize some of the sights. This is the second year I've been recording with the "Helmet Cam thing" and have found that recording is the easy part but the editing takes a lot of practice and patience. I stole a couple of ideas from Cyber Buddy, Skiroule which helped with the learning curve. There's nothing too dramatic here, we don't have any mountains in Wisconsin but we do have an extensive trail system. No animals or trees were injured in this production and the Cam is a Swann Freestyle. This clip runs about 90 seconds and is safe for the workplace. Giddyup!

Nice. Helmet cams are too much fun. But I need to spend some time to figure out how to edit too.

Nice Gary, your a couple steps ahead of me I haven't tried to add tunes or the fancy fade in and outs yet, Skiroule is the man to see on a lot of things!

Oh Yeah!

This was fun to watch, just makes you want to get out and ride. Nice work Gary! I can't remember what you are using for an editing tool but you're right, the real work (and results) are in the editing.

I tried a new visor camera mount on the last trip but the angle was just a tad off - a little too much sled in the frame and not enough terrain. It worked well if I rode with my nose in the air, which felt disturbingly natural.
