Adventure Mine in Greenland

Just got home from a camping trip to Porcupine Mountain State Park. Today at my sons request we went to the Adventure Mine in Greenland and do the tour. What a cool place and great tour. It really amazes you the amount of work and hard life's people had back in the 1800's. Swinging a hammer for 10 hrs/day, 6 days/week, for $1/day. And we think we have it rough. And the amount of tunnels they dug that way, incredible. I'd like to go back for their longer tour someday where you rappel down sections and spend more time in the mine.

Good info, I'll have to remember that and check it out sometime.

I agree, they do a great job with their tours.

I was there on Saturday for the "Miner's Revenge" mountain bike race. The race went over and around the hill that the mine is in, and then through part of the mine. Riding a bike through the mine with only a headlamp to light the way was a super cool experience.
