I'm not a " Can " expert, however I know a little. I will go out on a limb here and for fear of sticking my foot in my mouth, which has happened several times before ( I HATE when that happens ) and say " NO "..... It will not mess up your ECU ( THAT I HAVE HEARD OF ). This is generally speaking and barring some unbeknownest complications with specific sled models. Performance manufacturers will generally tune their cans & pipes to a stock set-up and stock porting. Trying to alter or improve the HP and Torque at the " running RPM ". Mountian sleds ( P & C's ) are different as they have to breach the lower elevations and higher elevations while still making a performance gain. I would consult with the TECH guy @ whatever manufacturer of who's ever can your looking at for specifics. Generally the pipes & cans are dyno'ed ( company X's can with the stock pipe and X's pipe with the stock can or both together with an alleged over all increase ). I'm not a proponent of bolt on HP and I rather not explain why ( besides my fingers grow weary ) If you get a can and only expect to shed the weight & like the sound you will be satisfied. Most AM Per manu's are making " trail quiet " cans now a days.
