Thursday proved to be somewhat cooler than Wednesday. We had showers mid morning and then mostly cloudy which helped keep the heat down. Something else that is down is attendance. We won't know till next week when the numbers are crunched but I have a feeling we will not surpass last year's record. I squeezed off a couple of pictures on my way in to work today.
This is known as the North 40.
About a mile long collection of small aircraft and campers. It's quite common for people to fly their planes in and then camp under the wings during their stay.
As with the other campgrounds, they have their own grocery store, showers, laundry, etc.
Another shot of our Goodyear friend.
I think the morning sunlight adds a lot to photos and this is just from my phone camera.
It's more than just planes here, there's a lot of vintage military stuff like this G.I. Jeep
One of the most simple yet versatile machines ever produced.
Who wouldn't want this beauty in their shed or garage?
me, me, me,
Though I don't think the wife would go for the Machine Gun.
If you ever have to call 911 when you're on the water....these are the people who show up.
The U.S. Coast Guard
Here's another view of that Constellation that we showed yesterday. The last of the propeller driven airliners before the jet age.
And with that, I'll close out today's post from the E.A.A. in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It's been fun and I've met some great people from places like England, Norway, and some guy from Australia that wanted to arm wrestle me. As always, you can follow the action on the 24 hour Live Cams at the link below.
