Heading to Black Hills 1/30/16.

Ride Skidoo GSX1200 Le. Question is..what happens if we don't change our clutch springs etc. for the altitide(6000ft) and if we change them to 6000 ft. settings what will they run like when we come back if we don't change them back to sea level settings?
Help please

you will rarely if ever get to 6000 feet in the black hills-most of the time you will be around 3000 feet- I would not change the clutch- I have never had a 4 stroke out there - with a two stroke you would have to change the main jets but I don't think you would have to change anything on a 4 stroke- better check though

I just got back from the Black Hills last weekend. I have a 1200 Renegade and didn't adjust my clutch and it ran fine. Like Towtruck said, most of the time you'll be well below 6000 feet.

whenever i've been out there we always jetted and clutched for 6-8000'. You actually do most of your riding in the 5500-6500' range unless you get to the very southern end. Trailshead Lodge is at 6500'. Heck, rapid city is at 3200'.

I never change my Clutching for the Black Hills and we all have 1200's. We have the heavy Dalton Clutch Spring in ours and they tend to run over 8000 anyway in Wisconsin and the UP. You may drop a couple hundred rpm's out there but it will be fine. Make sure your running a 383 Doo Belt. We have had many problems with aftermarket Belts out west.

Thanks for the reply. Thanks what we had decided. Couldn't stand riding those green rentals when we have such nice Skidoo's! ;-}
