Aluminum sled ramps

Anyone here use a aluminum sled ramp instead of a trailer? If so what kind and what do you like about it or don't like about it? Any one familier withthe brand Beartrack ramps? thanks for your input.

I dont currently have a trailer. Just use the back of my dakota. I took an aluminum atv ramp, one that is about 4 ft long and folds in half the long way. Used 1 1/2" self tap screws and put some 1/2 OSB(what I had on hand at time) so that the skis had something to slide on. Only trouble is when there is some moisture(powder) on ramp. Im sure I could alleviate with some kind of traction but 9 out of 10 times Im able to drive right into the bed of the truck. I have an 06 Crossfire and sticks out the back of the bed about 2-3 feet. I fold the Ramp in half and put under the track for added support before I strap to bed of truck. Works for me I guess. Good Luck.

I just bought a beartrack ramp in July and have used it only once but can make some comments. It is very easy to load and unload sleds with the guide rails and poly material. Not the easiest to store since it folds in half and is still approximately 25 inches wide and 7 feet long. It is very well built and is a lot easier to use and load than the 3 pieces of wood ramps I used previously.

Can't help with the Beartrack ramp. But someone posted this Youtube video here last year. Homemade Ramp

Also go on you tube and do a search for "loading a snowmobile" it will bring up quite a bit. May you might find something the will help you.

ragsled, I take it you like the ramp, obviosly it must be built well, I was a little concerned about the storage part, I guess I can lock it up best I can to the bed of the truck when I'm out riding, I would hate to come back to a stolen ramp, How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? Shipping? As far as I can tell it is the only ramp specifically made for sleds that isn't the cost of a new open 2 place, I'm looking at the 750 BS ramp, thanks everyone for your input.

I bought mine from a dealer outside of Hayward WI on 77 for $250, free shipping from Beartrack to them. Beartrack offers free shipping from their facility to the tristate via "Speedy'?, I called Beartrack to buy and they gave me a dealer to contact, they added that if the dealer could not help me they could sell directly to me. The only concern I had was that they shot a few screws into it to hold some wood for shipping. I have the 748BS and a 2002 mxz renegade fit on it, they wanted $255 for the 750BS.

thanks for the info, looks like I'm buying a ramp, I hate the thought of 100 bucks for shipping but I think that's what I'm in for, I live in mass.

i don't know why you need to take a ramp to mich plow banks every where , the first time i plow at home i build a ramp to load
