I was unable to get away for the entire month of Febraury and I'm itching to go now that I can. my buddy and I are planning on driving to the UP this weekend in the hope of finding some rideable snow. Anyone have any suggestions or is the season over?

I cannot speak for any other area but mine, but you will still find rideable snow up here. There is a catch though. Most of the snow on the trails in and around the towns is either gone or is ugly. So if you stay in Houghton/Hancock, you will either have to grin and bear it to get to the snow just outside of the immediate town areas, or trailer to a drop off point and go from there. You can still stay in Calumet and ride from the places there, as the trail through town is OK, but streets are bare. Dropping into places like Copper Harbor, Eagle River/Harbor, Lac La Belle might be a challenge due to low snow as you get into those immediate areas.

So I guess if you are really wanting to ride, you can up here, but will have to make some changes to the regular routine.

I was riding North on Wednesday and Hancock was dumping trucks of snow on the city trials - that's commitment to snowmobiling and the community -outstanding!
