Ok check this out, my oldest son is a huge baseball fan, White Sox specifically. So he wanted his room decorated in all White Soxs stuff when we bought our house last year, and I came up with one detail to top the room off and have been waiting to do it since then.
So for his 8th birthday, a few days ago, we gave him a Paniramic picture that I took up at a game. I took a few pictures then did a little editing in Photoshop, then had it printed on repositionable vinyl 46" tall by 12' long to fit on his wall.

Here it is in his room~
The lighting is not the best, and the flash bounces of the picture but you get the idea.

Oh and somewhere in the crowd on the left side is where our seats where. So he is in the picture too. I thought it was a a really cool gift for and 8 year old!

That is sweet! Bet you had one happy kid when he saw it.

Oh yeah, trying to figure out how to give it to him was part of the challenge, the look on his face was his eyes and mouth wide open, not once but twice for about 5 min. both times. Once when we unrolled it at his party, and then this Sunday when he came home and saw it on the wall. Funny thing was before they opened their presents they both counted to see who got more. and the oldest was complaining he got allot less. No complaints after he opened this!

And if you take the same picture next year, what's different?

No Ozzie!

No difference to me, I heard on the radio this morning that they caned Ozzie my first thought was, I did not know the Osborn show was till on. I personally hate watching baseball, unless I'm at the park for a game. I'm more of a Motorsport guy. My son gets his love from my father-in-law. And, I guess, technically he is my step-son. His dad has never really been around, his dad does gets him every other weekend but from what he tells us he stays with his grandparents 90% of the time. (Which is probably best!) This is where the brotherly competition get pushed to the edge, between my boys. (At least the older two, my youngest is just under 2, So no fighting yet.) I try to do things with all of them, and each of them separately, but some time events fall on weekends he is with his dad, So my two boys and I go, and he eventually finds out about it and get upset he was not include. I know its just something he has to learn. It just stinks b/c I have been in his life since he was 1.5yrs old, so it feels like he is mine.

lofsfire, that is very cool. I have a 7 year old that would love that in his room, only a picture of Target Field. ha, ha. A group of us did a big weekend this summer stopping at Miller Park on Thurs, Wrigley on Fri and a Sox game on Saturday and had a blast. Very nice stadium by the way. Come on over to Minny sometime and check out a Sox-Twins game?

No Ozzie!

Considering his son is 8, he probably doesn't mind that Ozzie is gone. He's a Sox legend, but I wouldn't want an 8 year old to ever listen to one of his press conferences. I'm a Sox fan myself but I don't think I'll miss Ozzie too much.

That's an awesome poster though! I would have loved that when I was his age. I had a Sox poster withseveral different players on it. If I remember right, it included Ozzie, Greg Walker, and I can't remember who else. I'm not sure if Fisk played at the same time as the others.

The whole thing is kick butt! As a kid? I would have wet my pants if my dad did that for me!

And, yup, you're his dad!! :)

I'm a Sox fan as well (if my screen name doesn't tell you that already). That is way cool!
Wonder if my wife would let me do that in our bedroom? Maybe?...... NOT!

Nice job, nothing better than doing something nice for your kids. This will last a life time in the mind of your boy, and probably yours by the way you exhibit your excitement. Your a good example those of us seeing this

Thanks Lenny! And by the way wish I could help you on your house but with my boys being so young right now its hard to get my own stuff done. Still working on my house, I have a bunch of little pieces of trim that I need to be put up, and other finishes. All the stuff that you say I'll get that later it will just take a minute to do. Those minutes add up, and I can't run and air compressor and nail gun when a 2 year old is napping.

Go Sox! (Blew their wad this year) Does not look to promising for the near future for them. New coach Ventura is questionable at best. I would love a copy if you ever want to work some thing out off the record. :) What game was this taken at? I wonder if I am in it.
