Reviews aren't the best but it's on the trail and a good price? Bringing the wife and possibly my daughter so if it's not good then I'll find a better place but wondering real world experience

The rooms I've stayed in there were nice/decent. Somebody can always find something to complain about...

Have stayed twice. Ask for a room in the newer addition they are a little better. You will be riding the ditch of the road to get to trail, but its not that bad. Be careful were the connector trails meet trail 8. People can be going 100mph and not slow down at these intersections. Otherwise it's a nice place to stay for multiple days of riding. South to Manistique you can get to big spring on trail. Make sure you go out to Miners Castle and if your willing to walk on foot about 3/4 of a mile you can see Miners Falls. Lots of other sights around there too.

If you are going up toward Grand Marais try not to do it on Friday or Saturday unless your ladies are not just beginners. The riders up that way on the weekends can be very aggressive. Cutting corners and not getting over well while passing oncoming traffic. Be prepared to be the lead rider.

Get to the hotel before they close the bar/restaurant or you won't be able to get into your room till morning.

Have fun.

If that is the old Cherrywood Lodge, it is a decent place.
Haven't been there in 5 plus years but the free breakfast every morning was really good. Good waitstaff as well. Large parking areas too.

We used to stay there all the time until we started renting a house. As suggested, ask for a room in the back. The owner owns numerous other motels in town and Dog Patch restaurant as well as places in GM. Bill is very snowmobile friendly. News flash, he makes little to no money in the winter but keeps the motels open to keep his best summer staff on full time.

I stay there almost every year. Very nice people. Stayed there this year for my first trip the pool was not open not sure if it is yet or not but when I made reservations for next week's trip with the wife and kids it was not open. So staying a half mile down the street at americinn which I have also stayed at and is a really nice place with a pool and hot tub and a pool slide so the kids love it. It is a bit more expensive.

That's the one I'll likely do is American inn. The slide I don't believe is open or the hot tub just the pool. At least that's what a friend said that stayed there a few weeks ago.
