arctic cat smart valves (fuel intakes)

I know this should be under tech area but I wanted more views since its more time sensitive. My 03 F7 will idle great but starts to miss when engaging from time to time. Once it gets going it runs great. Compression is good. I drained tank and cleaned fuel intakes and it ran great after that for the next 70 miles. It started missing after that. Mechanic stated fuel intakes bad but not instock wouldnt have them til next week, darn holidays. I really want to ride in the Paul Wick memorial ride this Sunday. My question is if the rubber washer in the valve is bad can i remove it to allow fuel flow. I was told the valve closes when fuel is not present so no air can be sucked up. The screens look good and I will carb clean them again. Thoughts or ideas?

Mine were bad out of the box on my o2 cross country. The first trip it would idle fine but would stall out. It was the weekend and we were no where near a dealer so I pulled them off and installed a couple of inline fuel filters from nappa. It worked fine until I could get them replaced

You can pull the valve apart and stick something in there so they can't collapse. It's been a few years but I think I cut down a pen cap. You'll get a better idea once you pull them apart. This will assure they are not collapsing on you. I did this for troubleshooting only and not sure of any long term negative repercussions.
