I haven't seen any garbled messages for a few days. In my case the apostrophe (') triggered the demon messaging. Looks like we're good from my end of things.

They might be....did a little test with inserting images this morning and it seemed to work ok.

Fingers crossed that the gremlins are gone. Spaces and carriage returns used to be a problem for me.

… AVAST MOBILE SECURITY and AVAST FREE HOME EDITION …
1. Yes indeedy.
2. I use AVAST PREMIUM SECURITY on all of my devices, and have been for some time.
3. It has never found any anomalies related to the "Gremlins we have been experiencing on the JD Forum — Powered by vBadvanced CMPS.
4. However it does appear that those gremlins have been assassinated.

Those r not gremlins...those r signs your hacked....use this if it's your phone...search for AVAST FREE HOME EDITION if it your computer....do a full scan...kill all apps....been using it for 20+ Plus years and have mentioned it many times on here...its the best there is

That is a pretty strong statement. Avast might be good but by most rankings it doesn't make the top three. Most ratings rank the top 3 as BitDefender, Norton and Kaspersky. By the way Kaspersky is a Russian company.

I've been using Avast for so long now, I've forgotten how long it's actually been! No issues, ever.

Ditto. PC Mag is a sell out. Has a tendency to rank their biggest advertisers higher up on the list. Norton is a joke and Kaspersky will render your computer almost useless by slowing it down to a snails pace. I have one machine with it on it and takes a full 5 minutes to fully boot up.

Viper is also very good. Been using it for over 8 years. Switched from Norton as it gobbled resources, it was like dragging an anchor. -Mezz

Funny how you never said why its a joke. The AV-TEST Institute doesn't think Norton 360 is a joke. Most of its ratings for Norton are above industry average. Norton beats out Avast in almost all performance tests. Here is a comparison of test result of Norton vs Avast.

The AV-Test Institute gives Bitdefender the top award. Avast is rated a top product. I never said it wasn't. My beef was in claiming it was the best when it is not.

I've been using the joke (Norton) since the early 90's. Yes there were years I was looking for something to replace it. Resource hog for sure. Then just when I was about to pull the trigger the newest version came out and was a huge improvement. I would say for the last 10+ years I've been very happy with it. The good thing about options is we all don't have to use the same thing.

I never said that AVG was the best, but has worked the best for me over the years. Based on dfattack's post, sounds like Norton has gotten it's act together. My main beefs with Norton were that it was slow to react to updating itself to the latest bugs and was a processor hog. The bottom line for me is to use what works best for you. Just like pizza's, we all have our preferences.
