Here's the deal, coleman evcon furnace @ camp... Inducer/draft motor comes on as normal, glowplug glows, flame starts, Blwr mtr kicks on, at the same time the gas valve shuts her down. Then it will re-fire twice run some each time but still it kicks the flame off. Had problems last time up here 2 weeks ago, so put in a new flame sensor & everything was fine for then. Not now I'm stumped? Thx in advance for any thing you can point me to.

boy sounds similar to my prob a month ago. my furnace guy cleaned my flame rollout switch with sandpaper. That solved a week of headaches. Not sure if it's the same thing as I'm no funrace guy. So sorry if I said something dumb

well there is no green light on board, I mean its there just not on. No diagnostics to be had. Leaning toward the bad board. Does this sound right?

Yep pretty sure it's the board, where the board meets the housing (of furnace) it looks to be rotten, looks to take a couple of diodes with it. I dont understand where the moisture came from?

not a pro in service but check flue like blkhwkbob said also check inducer motor hoses for moisture related to the pressure switch it does sound like a vent problem

If there is visual corrosion on the board, more than likely the issue. moisture could be from the furnace itself if it is a 90 plus unit. check all components above for any leakage as this will repeat itself with a new board installed in a year or two...feel free to call me as I am at the office right now from service calls. I'll pull up the evcon machine.

Thanks frezzinbevr, yes the corrosion on the board took some diodes with it. I did however find a board @ dey dist. However, only open til noon tomorrow. Before I leave camp I will check the roof jack, had an issue with that also last spring, tree branch knocked old jack off of the roof in a storm. Replaced it with a new one but will check to make sure.

Sounds good, depending on where you are at Johnstone carries the Coleman furnaces too if it may be closer than Dey. Looks like that furnace has a potential of a recall as well if it is 1995-2000 model. If it is on propane, make SURE you have CO detectors less than 5 years old in the camp. Is it in a mobile home? Looks like that is the usage of those furnaces and if there is AC it can leak water anywhere!! Water is a beast of its own and finds wierd paths.

Good luck!

Freezinbevr, yes it's actually a 96 model/yr can you tell me more about said recall? On another note just checked both limit switches (cold) & they both show 1.4 ohms... are they good? Thanks so much again, your a good man. Yea it's a double wide, no air. Roger on the CO detectors.

The limits should be infinate on the ohms if you have a continuity test mode on the meter. The recall is on the heat exchanger. I saw it just googling. Not sure on the active or inactive status on the recall at this stage. That would give you a new heat exchanger but not cover the labor for installing it. Coleman is about the only manufacturer who makes mobile home furnaces as they are very finicky with the regs per our fabulous EPA, DOE, government controls. Might not hurt to ask a Johnstone rep about the recall tho. Where r u located?
