ATV riders shot at?

Vilas Cty, Wi is strictly against the use of ATV's and I was in a bar last night and overheard some guys that had been shot at while riding their ATV's in NE Vilas, the story sounded rather strange, possibly blowing smoke. Just wondered if anyone else had heard anything.....
