I'm looking to buy my first atv(4x4). Does anybody know were I should look online for real world reviews from real people about utility atv's. I'm not looking for paid biased info from atv mags or manufactures. They all look good to me I no nothing I have limited experience on only polaris sportsman's.-thanks for any help

How about telling us what you are thinking you will use the ATV for, and us JD'ers will tell you what we have, if it fits your criteria.

My Honda Foreman 400 is a utility. Full time 4WD (all 4 wheels pull), it is a '96 I think and I have never stuck a dime in it. It has been very reliable. When my dad farmed I could pull empty chopper boxes with it. Now its main work is skidding logs in fall for firewood, plowing snow, and sweeping the grass clippings. I would recommend a Honda any day.

I think they are all good today, to me if you have a good local dealer that you like and you can trust that is the determining factor, unless you just like a certain brand. Myself I am a Cat man but I have Polaris ATV mainly because of the the dealer.

Trail riding, and getting in and out of the woods for deer hunting. They all seem nice, which one? polaris,yamaha, can-am,kawasaki.

I have had great luck with Suzuki, 300 king quad, hunts, hauls and pulls like crazy, air cooled so little to maintain. Goes thru the red UP mud real good too. Have also had Honda foreman 400 solid rear axle and a 500 Polaris ranger, all great machines.

I agree with pretty much what everyone has already posted. All of the Utility ATV's manufactured today have 'selling points,' and features that just they offer. Bottom line is the dealer. Find a dealer that cares about your business, and if possible a dealer that is involved in the sport. All to often we have dealers that want your business, but do little to nothing for the future of our sport. The ONLY way a lot of us in ATV Organizations will get help from the dealers is if the dealers see the benefit$ of being involved.
Bottom line...First choose a dealer, then a brand...that is INVOLVED in the sport...then choose the model that you like best.

not to hi-jack thread, do you think side by sides wider than 50" will soon be allowed on atv trails
