I received this email on Snowest, and since there are many from Wisconsin on this site i thought I would pass this along.

From the Email:

Avalanches can happen to anyone. With the proper training, you can minimize your risk and maximize your survival rate while playing hard in the mountians. Make sure you and your friends are prepared to handle the worse on your western excursions this year. Join avalanche safety instructor Mike Duffy and the Engelhart crew in a 4 hour avalanche training session. You'll learn the most common mistakes and how to avoid them, terrain analysis, rescue techniques, and much more. Whether you're boondocking, highmarking, or spectating, you need the proper skills to play safe and live to ride the next day.

This 4 hour course is held on Thursday, November 12th from 6PM to 10PM at the Engelhart Center in Madison, WI and costs just $45 per person. Space is limited, please reserve your slot in advance. To reserve a slot, please email Shawn Kelly at shawn@engelhart.com.
