Backfire

i have an 03 yamaha venture 600 triple my problem is at idle and at slow speeds i get a backfire through my exhaust. at normal driving speeds the sled runs fine i had the carborators clean and reeds looked at. ive been told that this years sled they had a problem with the oil injection system and i am told to pre-mix the fuel and by pass the oil injection system.

You have a plugged pilot jet.You will need to use a small piece of wire to clean the jet out. Don't feel bad it happens all the time ,clean the carbs install them back on the sled only to find out that something is still wrong.

Of course it could be a bunch of things, RACE is probably right.

Go back over the sled to see if you left something loose....as the sled sounds like it is running lien and sucking too much air or not getting enough fuel. Easy to miss something when you are putting it back together.

I will expand n this and say pilot jet or pilot air circuit. Pull the pilot mix screw out and clean the whole passage way of dirt.
